Brote stores the information you choose to enter, including:
This information is used solely to power the app's features (tracking, budgeting, reporting) on your own device.
We (the developer of Brote) do not operate any server that receives, stores, or has access to your data. There is no backend that transmits your financial information anywhere.
When you scan a receipt or import transactions from a screenshot, Brote uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to read text from the image. This processing happens entirely on your device — images and extracted text are never uploaded or sent anywhere.
If you enable app-lock, Brote uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework to verify your identity via Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. Brote never has access to your biometric data — this is handled entirely by Apple's Secure Enclave.
Brote may send you local notifications (e.g., budget alerts, bill reminders, weekly/monthly spending summaries). These are generated and scheduled entirely on your device and do not involve any push notification server operated by us.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, advertisers, or analytics providers. Brote contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.
You can delete any account, transaction, budget, envelope, or goal at any time from within the app. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data; if iCloud sync was enabled, you can also delete synced data via Settings on your device (Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage).
Brote is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
If Brote's data practices change (for example, if we add bank account linking or any server-based feature in the future), this policy will be updated accordingly before that feature is released.
